BEIJING, July 20 -- Recently, the 3rd Chinese peacekeeping quick reaction force to Abyei participated in an aviation emergency response plan (ERP) training session organized by the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) and conducted a joint comprehensive drill with the Ghana Level II Hospital.

The drill aimed to familiarize participating personnel with the activation procedures and operational requirements of aviation emergency response plans, thereby honing their coordination skills during emergencies and crises.

The comprehensive drill was set against the backdrop of a simulated helicopter crash in the field. Receiving the order, members of the quick reaction force deployed in accordance with the plan and quickly boarded the helicopters. Upon arriving at the simulated crash site, the troops immediately established a security perimeter to enable medical personnel from the Ghana Level II Hospital to conduct casualty search, emergency treatment, and medical evacuation (Medevac). The drill proceeded smoothly and received recognition from the aviation safety authorities.

It is reported that the Chinese peacekeeping quick reaction force is primarily tasked with 19 core missions, including armed patrols, VIP protection, emergency reinforcement, and humanitarian assistance, serving as a "sharp blade" force for responding to various emergencies in the mission area.
