SURABAYA, Aug. 3 -- A Chinese PLA Navy's task group, comprising the training ship Qijiguang (Hull 83) and amphibious dock landing ship Kunlunshan (Hull 998), which is carrying out the far seas internship training and visit mission, arrived at Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, Indonesia, on August 2, 2026, for a four-day goodwill visit.
During the visit to Indonesia, sailors from both navies will take part in a series of activities, including mutual ship visits, symposiums, and friendly cultural and sports events. The task group's commander will pay courtesy calls on leaders of the Indonesian government, navy, and military academies. The task group will also host a deck reception and open its ships to members of the Indonesian military, local residents, and overseas Chinese. Following the visit, the two sides will conduct a joint maritime exercise.
