JAKARTA, Aug 6 -- On the morning of August 6, the Chinese PLA Navy's task group, comprising training ship Qijiguang (Hull 83) and amphibious dock landing ship Kunlunshan (Hull 998), set sail from Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, concluding its four-day goodwill visit to Indonesia and continuing with its open-sea training and overseas visit mission.

During the visit, the task group commander paid courtesy calls on Indonesian military and government leaders. The Chinese sailors participated in friendship sports meet at the Indonesian Naval Academy and co-hosted cultural salon with Indonesian naval cadets. The two sides also conducted reciprocal ship visits, academic exchanges and other activities. During the port call, the task group hosted multiple open-ship events, which drew local residents, overseas Chinese and representatives of the Indonesian military aboard for visits.

At the invitation of the Indonesian Navy, the Chinese naval task group conducted a joint exercise with the Indonesian Navy after departing from Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya.
