BEIJING, Aug. 18 -- A Chinese PLA Navy's task group, comprising the amphibious dock landing ship Kunlunshan (Hull 998) and the training ship Qijiguang (Hull 83), successfully completed its far seas internship training and visit mission, and returned to China on August 17, 2026.
The midshipmen participating in the mission came from the Chinese PLA Naval University of Engineering, the Chinese PLA Naval Submarine Academy, and the Chinese PLA Dalian Naval Academy. Additionally, 19 foreign military personnel from 10 countries, including Brazil, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Vietnam, trained alongside their Chinese counterparts.
During the mission, the task group made friendly visits to four countries: Russia, Vietnam, Brunei, and Indonesia. It organized four deck receptions and held 16 open-ship events, inviting local residents, overseas Chinese, and foreign military representatives to tour the ships.
