BEIJING, Sept. 1 -- The 49th Chinese naval escort task force recently conducted an anti-piracy drill in waters off Somalia.

During the drill, the task force carried out a coordinated sea-air assault to rescue a hijacked vessel, completing tasks including securing the scene, search and apprehension, and personnel rescue.

The drill effectively tested the task force's capabilities in intelligence gathering, rapid maneuver, reconnaissance and search, and joint operations, while enhancing its abilities to carry out diverse missions and respond to emergencies.
