JUBA, Sept. 8 -- The 12th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to South Sudan (Juba), together with UN military observers and UN police, successfully completed a long-range cross-sector joint patrol recently.

Passing through areas such as Yei and Morobo, the long patrol lasted five days and four nights and covered more than 400 kilometers, passing through several remote areas of South Sudan. Along the way, the Chinese peacekeepers passed through 52 checkpoints and 12 areas without signal coverage and traversed two conflict-sensitive zones.

During the mission, the Chinese peacekeepers held multiple discussions to assess the security situation and the local living conditions in the mission area, and carried out humanitarian assistance activities such as donating supplies.

This mission comprehensively tested the peacekeeping troops' combat-oriented capabilities in long-distance maneuvering, contingency response, and comprehensive support.
