BEIJING, Sept. 9 -- A media briefing for the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum was held in Beijing on September 8. Preparations for the forum have been largely completed, and the event will take place at the Beijing International Convention Center from September 15 to 17, 2026.
Under the theme of "Build Consensus on Stability, Advance Security Governance Together," this year's forum includes four plenary sessions and eight parallel special sessions. A wide range of defense and military leaders, heads of international and regional organizations, as well as leading experts and scholars with international academic influence will attend at invitation. The 4th China-Africa Peace and Security Forum will also be held concurrently during the event.
Since its launch in 2006, the Beijing Xiangshan Forum has held 12 editions, evolving from a Track-II forum for exchanges among Chinese and foreign defense and security think-tank scholars into a high-level Track-1.5 dialogue platform widely attended by leaders of defense departments or armed forces, heads of international organizations, former dignitaries, and renowned scholars from around the world. The number of participating countries has expanded from just over 10 to more than 100, and it has become a renowned high-level security and defense forum both at home and abroad.
