ABYEI, Sept. 16 -- The 6th Chinese Peacekeeping Military Utility Helicopter Unit to the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) passed UNISFA's third-quarter equipment inspection on September 14, 2026.
Divided into eight specialized groups, the inspection team carried out a comprehensive equipment inspection on the Chinese peacekeeping helicopter unit, covering more than 20 categories, including weapons and ammunition, flight support equipment, vehicles and machinery, communications and navigation equipment, security and firefighting equipment, medical support equipment, accommodation facilities and individual equipment.
The inspection comprehensively assessed the unit's support capabilities for core missions such as aerial patrol, troop transport, supplies transportation and emergency rescue.
