Chinese peacekeeping utility helicopter unit to UNISFA passes UN special inspection

ABYEI, Sept. 18 -- All four Mi-17 helicopters of the 6th Chinese Peacekeeping Military Utility Helicopter Unit to the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) successfully passed the UN special helicopter inspection for the third quarter, with the operational condition of the equipment, aircraft maintenance support capabilities and flight safety management all meeting the required standards.

The quarterly special inspection was organized by the safety office of UNISFA's aviation section in strict accordance with UN aviation operations and maintenance standards and inspection guidelines. The inspection team examined the airworthiness  of the helicopters, avionics and navigation systems, propulsion and flight systems, spare-parts reserves, aircraft maintenance records, and implementation of flight safety regulations to comprehensively assess the unit's overall support capability for conducting air missions.
