GULF OF ADEN, Sept. 20 -- The guided-missile destroyer Kunming (Hull 172) attached to the 49th Chinese naval escort taskforce recently conducted a counter-terrorism and anti-piracy drill in the Gulf of Aden.

The drill focused on the employment of various shipboard weapons and emergency response. It tested the ship's independent capabilities to conduct counter-terrorism, anti-piracy and armed rescue operations, optimized command procedures, and further enhanced the taskforce's ability to carry out diverse missions and respond to emergencies.
