BEIJING, Sept. 21 -- The second stage of the "versatility cup" amphibious elite challenge tournament held by the Marine Corps of Chinese PLA Navy recently began in southern Fujian Province of China. More than 1,000 marines competed in multiple subjects to identify weaknesses and improve their training proficiency.

All subjects in the tournament are based on real-combat missions. Compared with the first stage, the second stage places greater emphasis on squad-level coordination. Within three days, the participants will be tested in multiple areas, including physical fitness, technical skills, mental resilience and coordination capabilities.
