ABYEI, Oct. 9 -- Two helicopters of the 6th Chinese Peacekeeping Helicopter Contingent to the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) departed from the UNISFA Smart Camp in Abyei on October 6, 2026, heading to Entebbe International Airport in Uganda for a rotation mission under UN's deployment.
As a key and highly demanding annual cross-border task for the Chinese contingent, the mission is critical to updating the air forces in the mission area, sustaining regular patrol capabilities, and maintaining stability in the Abyei region.
