WAU, South Sudan, Oct. 13 -- The 16th Chinese Peacekeeping Horizontal Engineering Company to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has recently made steady progress on UN-mandated infrastructure projects, including reinforcing blast-resistant walls, renovating dilapidated buildings, supporting lifting operations, and paving roads within the camp.
Under arrangements of UNMISS, the Chinese peacekeeping engineering contingent in Wau has undertaken a range of engineering support tasks. To date, it has completed more than 80 such tasks on schedule and with high standards.
Since its deployment to the mission area, the Chinese peacekeeping engineering contingent has maintained meticulous oversight of construction operations in line with "Chinese standards" and exercised strict quality control. Going forward, it will carry out its duties with higher standards, contributing more Chinese strength to world peace.
