KUNMING, Oct. 14 -- China and Laos held the fifth border defense friendship exchange  on October 13 in Mengla County and Mohan Port, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture , Southwest China's Yunnan Province. 

The Chinese delegation hosted a welcome ceremony at Mohan Port. Vice Admiral Wang Xianfeng, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command, and Senior Lieutenant General Saichay Kommasith, Deputy Minister of National Defense of Laos and Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People's Army, repainted the inscription on the boundary monument and took a group photo. 

The two sides visited a Chinese border defense company, reviewed the achievements of past friendly exchanges, and observed light weapons and equipment, as well as drone training. They also jointly planted a friendship tree, and subsequently donated teaching materials to Shuangyong Hope Primary School in Mohan Town.
