BEIJING, Aug. 22 -- On Wednesday, local time, the 23rd Chinese Peacekeeping Multi-role Engineering Company to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) successfully passed the UN's 2025 third-quarter equipment assessment with high standards and earned unanimous praise and high acclaim from the inspection team.

The inspection team consisted of 14 members from 11 departments of the UNIFIL headquarters including transportation, maintenance, engineering, firefighting, medical service, and fuel provision.

The inspection members inspected every barrack, warehouse, parking lot, and weapons and ammunition depot of the Chinese peacekeeping troops, thoroughly examining their vehicles, equipment, materials, and all kinds of facilities. The Chinese peacekeepers accurately reported the quantity and quality of various materials and equipment as well as the performance of weapons and equipment.

When the inspectors were checking the heavy-duty protective suits, they requested an on-site wearing demonstration. The Chinese mine clearance peacekeepers responsible for this type of equipment quickly put them on, winning high praise with professional performance.

This inspection demonstrated that the equipment and materials of the Chinese peacekeeping contingent are in good condition, the peacekeepers have competent professional qualities, and material reserves are sufficient. With every aspect meeting the standards set by the UN, the Chinese peacekeeping contingent is capable of undertaking missions in the next phase.
