KATMANDU, Sept. 8 -- On September 7 local time, the China-Nepal "Sagarmatha Friendship 2025" joint army training commenced at a training base in Nepal.

The Chinese participating troops are selected from a unit under the Chinese PLA Xizang Military Command. Under the theme of joint counter-terrorism operations, the training is divided into two phases, namely mixed-group joint training and live-force comprehensive drills.

The commanding groups of the two sides will jointly establish a joint training command center to conduct coordinated planning and map out tactics and training methods. They will organize troops from both sides to carry out drills on over ten subjects, including live-fire shooting, indoor clean-up, and comprehensive joint counter-terrorism operations.

Troops from both sides will participate in each other's training instruction to further enhance the quality and effectiveness of the joint training.

After the opening ceremony, participating troops from both sides inspected and operated Nepalese training equipment as well as Chinese disaster relief and rescue devices.

The joint training is expected to further deepen the friendship between China and Nepal, and strengthen the joint counter-terrorism capabilities of both sides.
