BEIJING, Oct. 16 -- On October 15, local time, the opening ceremony of the "Peace and Friendship 2025" joint exercise between China and Malaysia was held at Malaysia's national disaster assistance and rescue camp in Puchong.
Major General Datuk Mohamed Fauzi bin Kamis, chief of staff of Joint Forces Headquarters of Malaysia, and Major General Dai Bin, assistant chief of staff of the Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command, delivered remarks respectively.
The exercise, focusing on humanitarian assistance and disaster relief(HADR)and maritime security, is primarily conducted at Malaysia's national disaster assistance and rescue camp in Puchong, Port Klang, National Hydrographic Centre, Subang Air Base, and the waters of the Strait of Malacca. Key activities include HADR drills, live-force maritime security drills, and Air Force exchange seminars.
The exercise will last until October 23, with more than 1,000 service members from China and Malaysia participating.
