HJ-12 anti-tank missile, a new member of the Chinese PLA's Hongjian (HJ) Missile Family, is also known as the "Tank Killer".
It consists of an aiming unit and a tube-launched missile. It features fewer components and higher maneuverability.
The system has a compact, low-thrust ejection motor that can push the missile out of launch tube at very low initial velocity.
The HJ-12 can be fired from three postures, namely standing, kneeling, and prone.
As an intelligent precision-strike weapon for individual soldiers, the HJ-12 is capable of fire-and-forget operation.
To be specific, the missile locks onto the target before launch, and then autonomously tracks it until impact.
After launch, the shooter remaining concealed can quickly reload, or reposition, which significantly enhances battlefield survivability.
