BEIJING, Jan.19 -- The multi-national maritime exercise "Will for Peace 2026" concluded in the waters and airspace near South Africa on January 16, 2026.

The exercise focused on such subjects as maritime strikes, ship-borne helicopters cross-deck landing, rescue of the hijacked vessels, communication maneuvers, formation movements, and helicopter medical evacuation.

Themed on "Joint Actions to Ensure the Safety of Key Shipping Lanes and Maritime Economic Activities," the exercise is the first defense cooperation event under the BRICS framework.
