BEIRUT, Feb. 12 -- On February 10, 2026, the 24th Chinese Peacekeeping Level 1+ Hospital to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) conducted a joint aeromedical evacuation drill with peacekeeping forces from France, Italy, Brazil, and other countries, with observers from countries including Spain and India in attendance. Chinese peacekeepers' professional performance earned high praise and recognition from both the participants and observers.

The drill was based on the scenario where the peacekeepers were attacked while on patrol and suffered multiple open fractures all over their bodies. The drill relied on the Chinese peacekeeping medical unit and a French aeromedical evacuation team to carry out emergency treatment and aeromadical evacuation, in a bid to test the abilities of all medical units of the UNIFIL to coordinate rescue efforts and carry out emergency transfers.

This marks the first time that the 24th Chinese Peacekeeping Medical Contingent to Lebanon has participated in a multi-national joint aeromedical evacuation drill. After the drill, all parties conducted an after-action review, toured the Chinese Peacekeeping Level 1+ Hospital, and engaged in in-depth discussions on combat casualty care techniques and the optimization of emergency airlift protocols.
