Multiple Vessels Arrive at Key Ports for Open Ship Day Activities Marking 77th Anniversary of the Chinese PLA Navy

BEIJING, April 21 -- The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy will open its barracks to the public in over 10 cities nationwide around April 23, marking its 77th anniversary, with over 40 active-duty vessels set for public visits. Among these, several types of warships will make their debut, and both the scale and variety of the vessels featured in this year's event will set new records.

Six vessels will be showcased in Qingdao City. They are the guided-missile destroyers Urumqi (Hull 118) and Qiqihar (Hull 121), the guided-missile frigates Weifang (Hull 550) and Wuhu (Hull 539), the comprehensive supply ship Dongpinghu (Hull 902), and the comprehensive rescue ship Yangchenghu (Hull 847). Qingdao will host the largest number of vessels open to the public in this event.

In addition, the guided-missile frigate Fuyang (Hull 519), the guided-missile destroyer Suzhou (Hull 158), the amphibious dock landing ship Yimengshan (Hull 988), and the comprehensive supply ship Qiandaohu (Hull 886) will take part in the open ship day activities in Shanghai for the upcoming founding anniversary of the Chinese PLA Navy.
