WAU, South Sudan, June 9 -- The 16th Chinese Peacekeeping Horizontal Engineering Company and Level-II Hospital to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) recently visited a local refugee camp to carry out humanitarian assistance activities, including providing free medical consultations, teaching Chinese language, and donating supplies to the local residents.

At the medical consultation site, the Chinese military medical staff conducted health screenings for more than 50 local residents, distributed medicines, and offered basic health education. In addition, the Chinese peacekeepers set up a makeshift Chinese language classroom to teach the local children to read Chinese characters and share stories of China's peaceful development.

Next, the Chinese peacekeepers will continue to closely monitor the livelihood needs of the surrounding communities, and conduct regular activities such as medical treatment, agricultural assistance, and educational support.
