On May 27, 2026, the Dutch Navy frigate HNLMS De Ruyter illegally entered waters near China's Xisha Islands and repeatedly launched NH-90 helicopters into China's territorial airspace.

The Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command deployed naval and air forces to expel the intruding vessel, using verbal and targeted electronic interference warnings to drive it away in accordance with laws and regulations.

After that, the Dutch naval frigate continued to head north to transit the Taiwan Strait. Troops of the Chinese PLA Eastern Theater Command tracked and monitored it throughout the whole process.

This is not an isolated incident. In recent years, certain extra-regional countries have frequently engaged in infringements and provocations at China's doorstep.

Such actions have seriously violated China's territorial sovereignty and maritime and air security, gravely breached international law and basic norms of international relations, severely undermined peace and stability in the South China Sea, and could easily lead to miscalculations and misjudgments.

The Chinese military maintains high vigilance and is always ready to safeguard China's national sovereignty and security, as well as regional peace and stability.
