GUANGZHOU, July 27 -- Affected by Typhoon Noul, the 12th typhoon of the year, South China's Guangdong Province was hit by strong winds and torrential rain on July 26, leaving roads blocked and people stranded in many areas. The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and People's Armed Police (PAP) troops, together with militia members, were swiftly deployed for rescue and disaster relief operations, safeguarding the lives and property of the affected people.

Following the typhoon, large numbers of trees were uprooted along streets in several urban areas, while severe urban waterlogging occurred in some towns. Military members rushed to the affected areas with rescue equipment to clear roads, remove obstacles, drain floodwaters and evacuate trapped residents.
