As an old adage goes, a dog's year equals seven human years. Since large dogs live only 10-12 years, roughly one-seventh of a human lifespan. Basing on this ratio, when a dog turns 7 years old, the best part of its life has past.

Ao Long is a seven-year old German Shepherd dog. In 2020, when the dog was one year old, it started the career as a military working dog in the Chinese PLA Kameisitai border defense company, guarding the border area between China and Kazakhstan. Now, the dog has been working in the company for six years, the best six years of its life.

But don't feel sorry for the dog. The past six years have been rewarding and meaningful for Ao Long. Moreover, the lucky dog came across a trainer who treated it as a family member.
