BEIJING, Sept. 9 -- On the morning of September 8, the High-Level Meeting of the 22nd Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting (HACGAM) opened in Hangzhou City, east China's Zhejiang Province.

Representatives from two international organizations and maritime law enforcement agencies of 23 countries and regions attended the meeting. They held in-depth discussions on such topics as preventing and combating illegal maritime activities, maritime search and rescue, marine ecological and environmental protection, information sharing, and joint exercises.

As the first pan-Asia-Pacific multilateral international conference hosted by the China Coast Guard (CCG), the meeting aims to work with all parties to advance regional and global ocean governance, jointly address maritime risks and challenges, and promote the building of a maritime community with a shared future.
