LEBANON, Sept. 14 -- Members of the 24th Chinese Peacekeeping Contingent to United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) donated solar-powered streetlights and other supplies to a local village on September 11, 2026.

This year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Lebanon. Years of conflicts have severely damaged infrastructure in villages and towns across southern Lebanon, seriously disrupting the livelihoods and daily lives of the local residents. 

Since its deployment to the mission area in December last year, the Chinese peacekeeping contingent has completed a range of tasks, including mine clearance and explosive ordnance disposal, engineering construction, and medical treatment, while continuing to carry out humanitarian activities. To date, it has treated more than 2,100 local residents and personnel from friendly forces, conducted more than 10 free clinics and material assistance activities, and donated over 4,000 items of various kinds.
