BEIJING, Sept. 23 -- The Chinese PLA Navy's hospital ship Auspicious Ark, which is carrying out Mission Harmony-2026, concluded its friendly visit and medical service mission in Mauritania and departed Nouakchott's Friendship Port on the morning of Sept. 22, 2026.

Since arriving on Sept. 15, the hospital ship Auspicious Ark has carried out medical services and exchange visits in Mauritania. During the visit, the hospital ship's main medical platform recorded a total of 6,864 patient visits and performed 38 surgeries, including ophthalmic, general surgical and orthopedic procedures. The ship also delivered the first "Auspicious baby" of the mission. In addition, medical teams provided outreach medical services to 682 patients and carried out health education and medical exchanges at local hospitals and in communities.

During the visit, the hospital ship also held an open-ship event and a deck reception. Representatives of the mission personnel visited the Port Authority of Nouakchott and a military hospital for exchanges, further strengthening traditional friendship between the armed forces of China and Mauritania.
