BEIRUT, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- An Israeli airstrike on southern Lebanon killed two people and wounded another on Monday, the state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported.
The NNA said Israeli forces fired two guided missiles at a vehicle in Nabatieh, killing Hassan Atwi and his wife, Zeinab Raslan, whom it described as civilians. The couple had lost their two children earlier in the war with Israel.
The strike set the vehicle ablaze. Ambulances transported the remains while firefighters extinguished the fire, NNA said.
In a separate strike, Israeli forces hit targets in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley with no casualties reported, according to the agency.
Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said on social media platform X that the army struck Hezbollah positions in the Bekaa area, including Radwan Force camps used for training fighters.
Since Nov. 27, 2024, a U.S.- and French-brokered ceasefire has largely held between Israel and Hezbollah, ending months of cross-border clashes linked to the Gaza war. But Israel has continued periodic strikes in Lebanon, saying they target Hezbollah threats.
