BEIJING, July 22 -- An engineering detachment of a combined-arms regiment under the PLA Xinjiang Military Command conducted a live firing assessment for a new type of rocket minelaying vehicle in an unfamiliar area of more than 5,300 meters above the sea level. In the target area ten kilometers away, the engineers used the vehicle to set up an anti-tank minefield 600 meters wide and 800 meters long within the required time. It is learnt that self-destruction devices have also been installed on these mines to facilitate subsequent demining operation.
