BEIRUT, April 17 (Xinhua) -- One civilian was injured, and several houses were destroyed Wednesday in a series of Israeli air strikes on areas in eastern and southern Lebanon, Lebanese military sources told Xinhua.

The sources, who spoke anonymously, said that Israeli drones carried out three raids on Iaat in eastern Lebanon, about 100 kilometers from the borderline separating Lebanon and Israel.

The raids destroyed a warehouse for agricultural equipment, 10 residential homes, and wounded a civilian who was transferred to a hospital in the city of Baalbek.

Meanwhile, the Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon destroyed dozens of houses, said the sources.

The Israeli raids came in retaliation to Hezbollah's attack earlier in the day with guided missiles and drones of the headquarters of an Israeli military reconnaissance center in the village of Arab al-Aramshe in western Galilee, north of Israel, which injured 18 people.

Tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border escalated on Oct. 8, 2023, following a barrage of rockets launched by the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah toward Israel in solidarity with Hamas' attack on Israel the day before. Israel then retaliated by firing heavy artillery toward southeastern Lebanon.

The confrontations between Hezbollah and Israel have killed 423 people on the Lebanese side, including 269 Hezbollah members and 75 civilians, according to Lebanese security sources. Enditem.
