"Hard-boned sixth company" awarded to honorary title

BEIJING, July 31 -- On the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), the "hard-boned sixth company", a company of the PLA 74st Group Army, was honored with the title of "role model of the times" by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

The company, established in March 1939, has gone through the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the Chinese People's War of Liberation, and the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, participating in 161 battles in total. On January 22, 1961, China's Ministry of National Defense conferred the honorary title of "hard-boned sixth company" to the heroic company.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the officers and men have faithfully carried forward the fine traditions of the "hard-boned sixth company" and trained hard to enhance combat capacities for winning future wars. With its outstanding performance, the company has stood out in the PLA Army as the advanced unit in military training and pacesetter in pursuing the goal of building a strong military.
