PLA Bayi Aerobatic Team to perform at World Defense Show in Saudi Arabia

URUMCHI, Jan. 30 -- The J-10 performance aircraft attached to the Bayi Aerobatic Team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force arrived in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia, on January 29, to attend the 2nd World Defense Show scheduled to be held there from February 4 to 8, 2024.

According to Senior Colonel Xie Peng, spokesperson for the Chinese PLA Air Force, it will be the acrobatic team's 10th performance abroad. During the ferry flight, the PLA Air Force dispatched a YU-20 aerial tanker to accompany the task unit for aerial refueling.

Visiting Saudi Arabia for the first time, the Bayi Aerobatic Team specially added the green color representing the flag of Saudi Arabia and the symbol of peace and friendship to the color selection of the smoke. The team members also expressed confidence that they would present the most stunning air show there and showcase the image of the Chinese Air Force on the international stage.

For more than 60 years since its inception, the Bayi Aerobatic Team has flown various types of aerobatic aircraft successively, including J-5, J-6, JJ-5, J-7EB, J-7GB, J-10 and J-10C. It has staged more than 700 aerial displays for more than 700 delegations from over 170 countries and regions.
