The China Coast Guard (CCG) uses water cannons to spray a ship involved in drug crimes and force it to stop on February 2, 2023.

As the main force in maritime drug control, the China Coast Guard (CCG) has carried out a number of special anti-drug operations in recent years to curb the smuggling of drugs and drug-making materials at sea and crack down on drug-related criminal activities at sea. Since June 2019, CCG agencies at all levels have seized 8.729 tons of drugs and 2.182 tons of drug-making materials at sea, and destroyed 16 large cross-border drug trafficking gangs.

As a member of the China National Narcotics Control Commission, the CCG has always regarded the fight against drugs at sea as the "core project" of its law enforcement work, and has made every effort to promote and strengthen the comprehensive management of maritime drug issues. CCG agencies at all levels have comprehensively analyzed and judged intelligence clues from various channels, keenly perceived the situation of drug crimes in their jurisdictions, and carried out maritime control and investigation operations in an efficient and standardized manner, successfully cracking a series of major maritime drug cases.

At the same time, based on the actual situation in their jurisdictions, CCG agencies at all levels have scientifically optimized the deployment of forces in key sea areas, routes, and directions and improved sea-land linkage, ship-aircraft coordination, police force deployment, boarding and control, search and interrogation, and other tactics and strategies. With these efforts, a solid first line of maritime defense has been built.

In the next, the CCG will improve its intelligence collection and transformation capabilities, strengthen the research and application of new forces, and enhance the efficiency of maritime control and inspection to make new "breakthroughs" in the effectiveness of maritime anti-drug operations.
