The Eastern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army posted a music video on Thursday on its WeChat account, showing scenes of its landing exercises and encounters with aircraft from the United States Navy and Taiwan military.

The video, titled Parade in the Strait, shows helicopters, fighter jets and bombers flying above sea waters, paratroopers jumping out of planes and armored combat vehicles and marines charging toward beaches.

It also includes a clip of at least one Chinese fighter jet flying beside a US Navy EP-3 signals intelligence plane. In this clip, a Chinese pilot is heard requesting the US aircraft to leave the airspace that was being used by the Chinese military for combat drills.

Other notable clips were apparently taken by PLA Navy sailors, showing some of their peers were observing a Kang Ding-class frigate as well as a Cheng Kung-class frigate, both of which are part of the Taiwan navy, during a patrol earlier.

In a short article published with the video, the Eastern Theater Command said its forces are always ready for operations and will firmly safeguard China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The command is widely believed to be responsible for defense duties in the East China Sea and across the Taiwan Strait.
