BEIJING, Apr. 17 -- A US P-8A anti-submarine patrol aircraft flew through the Taiwan Strait on April 17 and hyped it up publicly. Naval Senior Captain Li Xi, spokesperson for the Chinese PLA Eastern Theater Command, slammed the US's provocative move in a written statement released on Wednesday.
The spokesperson said that the Chinese PLA Eastern Theater Command had organized warplanes to follow, monitor and deal with the trespassing US aircraft according to law and regulations. "The troops of the PLA Eastern Theater Command will remain on high alert at all times and resolutely safeguard China's national sovereignty as well as regional peace and stability," stressed the spokesperson.
