PORT OF DOUALA, Cameroon, Oct. 15 -- Recently, the endocrinologists aboard the Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark, which is on the Mission Harmony-2024, successfully cured a patient with intracystic hemorrhage from thyroid cyst through thyroid fine needle puncture surgery in one attempt in Cameroon. The endeavor provided valuable experience to the local diagnosis and treatment of related diseases.
Since its arrival at the Port of Douala, the hospital ship Peace Ark has been providing continuous medical service for local people for several days. After learning of the news, Bokwe Oscar Mibdngo, a local patient in Douala, rushed to seek medical aid.
Oscar was admitted to a local hospital eight months ago for a thyroid cyst, during which intracystic hemorrhage occurred several times, resulting in disease relapse. The endocrinologists aboard the hospital ship Peace Ark decided to perform thyroid fine needle puncture surgery for him after careful examination and evaluation. Oscar recovered well after the surgery.
