The first batch of 350 peacekeepers of the 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) departed from Xinzheng International Airport in Zhengzhou City of Central China's Henan Province on December 14, to carry out their 12-month peacekeeping mission in South Sudan.
12月14日凌晨,中国第十批赴南苏丹(朱巴)维和步兵营第一梯队350名官兵从郑州新郑国际机场启程,乘专机飞赴任务区,执行为期12个月的维和任务。
Members of the 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to the UNMISS are mainly selected from a brigade of the 81st Group Army under the PLA Central Theater Command. The contingent consists of 700 members from multiple specialties and arms, including infantry, signal troops, reconnaissance unit, and engineer troops. They will undertake security patrol, armed escort, emergency response, humanitarian relief, and other tasks.
第十批赴南苏丹(朱巴)维和步兵营由中部战区陆军第81集团军某旅为主体抽组建立,共编配700名官兵,涵盖步兵、通信兵、侦察、工兵等多个专业,主要担负警戒巡逻、武装护卫、应急处突、人道主义救援等任务。
Since this September, members of the contingent have experienced three-month training based on the mission requirements. The second batch of another 350 peacekeepers will set off in late December.
自今年9月份以来,官兵们针对任务需要,展开了为期三个月的训练并全部通过验收考核。据了解,第一梯队官兵抵达任务区后,将与第九批维和步兵营交接,第二梯队350名官兵将于12月下旬启程。
