WUHAN, July 4 -- From July 1 to 3, the Qiangjun Cup Naval Pentathlon Competition among China's military educational institutions was held at a base of the PLA Naval University of Engineering in Wuhan, capital city of central China's Hubei Province. Thirteen teams from nine military institutions competed in five events, including obstacle course, lifesaving, navigation skills, armed cross-country race and water skills.

武汉7月4日电 7月1日至3日，2024年全军院校“强军杯”海军五项比赛在海军工程大学某基地举行。来自全军9个院校13支代表队齐聚武汉，参加障碍、救生、航海技术、武装越野、水上技能5个项目比赛。

The event simulated scenarios based on naval tasks such as landing operations, shipboard work, and maritime self-rescue and mutual rescue, aiming to test the participants' basic naval vocational skills.

各项赛事均按照海军遂行登陆作战、舰艇环境作业、海上自救互救等任务场景模拟设置环境，考验参赛学员各项海军基础职业技能水平。

The competition began with the obstacle course. On an S-shaped track, participants needed to pass through eight obstacles, including hurdles and balance beams, over a total distance of approximately 305 meters. This event tested the participants' agility, balance, reaction speed, and strength.

海军五项比赛率先开赛的是障碍赛，该项目在S形赛道上进行，参赛学员需依次通过跳栏、平衡木等8个障碍，总距离约为305米，考验的是参赛队员的灵敏性、平衡感、反应速度和力量。

The lifesaving event was based on maritime self-rescue and mutual rescue tasks. Participants needed to operate rubber boats and perform three types of rescues by means of lifeline, rescue net and swimming to bring drowning individuals ashore. Then, they needed to complete bandaging, hemostasis, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), which tested their rescue abilities in water and first aid skills for battle injuries.

救生项目以海上自救互救任务为背景，选手需操作橡皮艇，通过抛绳救生、救生网救生、直接救生3种方式将水中溺水人员救援上岸，再完成包扎、止血、心肺复苏，旨在考验水中救生、战伤救护等自救互救能力。

The navigation skills event simulated maritime navigation environment, where contestants performed such actions as climbing masts, furling and throwing cables, rowing around markers, and maritime operations.

航海技术赛则模拟航海平台作业环境背景，要求运动员完成攀爬桅杆、收缆撇缆、绕标划船、水上作业等动作。

The armed cross-country race, also an essential naval skill, features rapid maneuvering, outflanking to create favorable conditions for subsequent landing and occupation. It included such subjects as cross-country running, shooting, and grenade throwing, testing combat skills over a total distance of approximately 2,300 meters.

武装越野赛同样是海军必备技能之一，其特点为快速机动、迂回穿插，为后续部队的登陆和占领创造有利条件，包含越野、射击、投掷手榴弹等科目，考验的是战时作战技能。比赛总距离约2300米。

The water skills event was based on the scenario of a maritime assault task, where participants first needed to swim 500 meters in full gear, and then row 2,000 meters on a dinghy to the finish line.

水上技能赛以海上突击任务为背景，运动员需先进行500米着装游泳，而后使用舢舨划行2000米冲过终点。

It's learned that this competition was hosted by the Training and Administration Department of China's Central Military Commission (CMC) and organized by the PLA Naval University of Engineering.

据了解，此次比赛由中央军委训练管理部主办、海军工程大学承办。
