JUBA, April 28 -- On the occasion of the 18th World Malaria Day, the 11th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) went to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Juba to promote malaria prevention and control knowledge and donate humanitarian aid supplies.
朱巴，南苏丹4月28日电--在第18个世界疟疾日来临之际，中国第十一批赴南苏丹维和步兵营走进任务区流民所，开展疟疾防治知识宣讲和人道主义物资捐赠活动。
With rampant mosquitoes and poor sanitary conditions, infectious diseases such as malaria and cholera are highly prevalent in the IDP camp in the mission area.
任务区的流民所内蚊虫肆虐，卫生条件有限，疟疾、霍乱等传染病高发。
To improve the anti-malaria capability of the IDP camp, the Chinese Peacekeeping Level One Hospital delivered posters and prevention manuals to the residents in the camp, introduced prevention knowledge to them, and demonstrated the usage of the test strips and protective equipment. In addition, the hospital donated more than 2,000 pieces of anti-malaria medical supplies to the camp to help the local residents maintain healthy during the malaria prevalence period in the rainy season.
针对流民所这一现状，维和步兵营一级医院向居民发放宣传画报和防治手册，讲解防治知识，现场示范如何使用检测试纸及防护用具，并向流民所捐赠了2000余件抗疟医疗物资，为当地居民度过雨季疟疾高发期提供帮助。
Jacob Guwak, Chief of the IDP camp community, expressed his gratitude to the Chinese peacekeepers and spoke highly of the importance of their help in epidemic prevention.
