For the last few days, troops from the Eastern Theater Command under the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) held combat readiness patrols and "Joint Sword" exercise in the maritime areas and airspace encircling the Taiwan Island as planned. Such moves are serious warning and strong countermeasures to the collusion and provocations by the Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authority and external forces, and also fully demonstrated the Chinese military's strong determination, resolution and capability to defend national sovereignty.

连日来，中国人民解放军东部战区按计划在台湾海峡和台岛北部、南部、台岛以东海空域组织环台岛战备警巡和“联合利剑”演习，这是对民进党当局与外部势力勾连挑衅发出的严厉警告与有力反制，充分彰显了捍卫国家主权的坚强决心、坚定意志和强大能力。

For some time, Tsai Ing-wen and the DPP authority have vigorously sought Taiwan independence by relying on the US. From undermining the common political basis of cross-Strait relations by denying the "1992 Consensus" to wantonly attacking the guideline of "One country, two systems" and keeping manipulating "de jure Taiwan independence" inside the island, and from disrupting and defaming cross-Strait exchanges to colluding with foreign anti-China forces for seeking industrial decoupling across the Strait, they have poured out vicious remarks and malicious provocations time and again. During her "transit" trip through US just a few days ago, Tsai Ing-wen openly made "Taiwan independence" separatist remarks once again, and bucked for the support of American anti-China forces, which fully exposed her despicable and snaky face of "flattering the US while separating and betraying Taiwan".

一段时间以来，蔡英文及民进党当局大搞所谓“倚美谋独”。从否定“九二共识”、破坏两岸关系共同政治基础，到肆意攻击“一国两制”、在岛内不断操弄“法理台独”；从干扰抹黑两岸交流合作，到勾结外部反华势力、企图操弄两岸产业脱钩，其谋独恶言不断、挑衅劣行频频。就在数天前的“过境”窜美期间，蔡英文再次公然发表“台独”分裂言论，谋求美国反华势力相挺，充分暴露其“媚美”“谋独”“卖台”的阴险图谋与卑劣行径。

To boost their courage for provocations, and further finagle and instigate the common Taiwan people, these "Taiwan independence" separatist forces vainly attempt to entrust the so-called "security assurance" commitment to the American politicians harboring ulterior motives.

为了给自己的挑衅之举壮胆，同时进一步欺瞒和煽动广大台湾民众，这些 “台独”分裂势力妄图把所谓的“安全保障”寄托在心怀不轨的美国政客身上。

To this end, the DPP authority has been thriftlessly spending the money of Taiwan taxpayers and purchasing a bulk of weapons from the US with continuously increasing budget. Under the US incitement, it accelerates the vicious outflow of competitive industries within the island, transforming Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company into "American Semiconductor Manufacturing Company". What's even more shocking is that the DPP authority is also deliberately ingratiated toward the preposterous "destruction of Taiwan" plan of the American politicians, and makes the Taiwan people the cannon fodder to contain China with Taiwan. With clamors of so-called "protecting and loving Taiwan" but doing wicked actions of "devastating and betraying Taiwan" in essence, the DPP authority directly intensified the tension and turbulence across the Taiwan Strait and devastated the peaceful reunification of both sides.

为此，民进党当局近年来不断挥霍广大台湾民众的血汗钱，向美国大量购买军火，且金额持续走高；在美方怂恿诱导下，恶意加速岛内优势产业外流，把台积电变成“美积电”；更加骇人听闻的是，民进党当局还刻意逢迎美国政客荒腔走板的“毁台论”，让广大台湾民众充当“以台制华”的炮灰。这些嘴上叫嚣“保台爱台”，实质为毁台卖台的恶劣言行，直接导致台海局势出现紧张动荡，严重破坏两岸和平统一前景。

Is the US "security assurance" undependable? The answer is absolutely no. From Iraq to Syria, and from Afghanistan to Ukraine, for so many years, the US has been agitating conflicts and stirring up regional security situations around the world, but gaining private profits from these actions. The US' international credit has been impoverished long ago.

美国提供的“安全保障”靠得住吗？答案当然是绝对否定的。多年来，从伊拉克到叙利亚，从阿富汗到乌克兰，作为一个长期在世界各地肆意拱火、制造纷争，不断通过搅乱地区安全形势，从中谋取肮脏私利的战争惯犯，美国所谓的国际信用早已彻底破产。

The US' arms sales and military collusion with Taiwan in the name of "security assurance" is to transfer interest to its own military-industrial complex, and transform Taiwan into a "hedgehog island" and front "ammunition depot" to contain China.

美国以提供“安全保障”为名进行的对台军售和军事勾连，一方面是向其军工复合体输送利益，一方面是想借机将台湾打造成遏华“刺猬岛”、前沿“弹药库”。

For this, the voice of skepticism toward US has been elevated to an unprecedented level recently. More and more Taiwan people have fully recognized that the "Taiwan independence" separatism is formidably opposed to the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait. The so-called US "security assurance" clutched by Tsai Ing-wen and the DPP authority is actually potent poison with a fictitious promise of the US, which will push Taiwan closer to dangerous situations.

对此，近期以来，台湾岛内“疑美论”声量创下历史新高。越来越多的台湾民众已经充分认识到，“台独”分裂与台海和平稳定水火不容。蔡英文及民进党当局拼命倚仗的所谓美国“安全保障”，实质是一剂包裹着美国虚假承诺的烈性毒药，只会让台湾距离危险越来越近。

Reunification is the general trend of history and the right path, and "Taiwan independence" separatism is a reversal of history and doomed to a dead end. Action is the strongest response to those sinister villains who keep conspiring "relying on the US to seek independence" and "containing China with Taiwan" against the historical trend and social justice. The combat readiness patrols and "Joint Sword" exercise of the Chinese PLA are just forceful responses and resolute opposition to the "Taiwan independence" separatists and external forces.

统一是历史大势，是正道。“台独”是历史逆流，是绝路。对于那些逆历史潮流而动，违公理正义而行，继续图谋“倚美谋独”“以台制华”的险恶宵小，行动就是最有力的语言。中国人民解放军连日来的环台岛战备警巡和“联合利剑”演习，正是对“台独”分裂活动和外部势力的有力回应和坚决反制。

China must be and will surely be reunified. The Chinese People's Liberation Army shall firmly safeguard the national sovereignty, security and development interests of China, and never allow any forces to make Taiwan separate from China under any name or by any means. And any wrongdoings attempting to make trouble in the name of Taiwan question and damage the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of China are bound to encounter bitter hit and ignominious defeat in the end.

祖国必须统一，也必然统一。在实现这一目标的征程中，中国人民解放军将坚决维护国家主权、安全、发展利益，绝对不允许任何势力以任何形式、任何名义把台湾从中国分裂出去。任何企图拿台湾问题兴风作浪，危害中国主权和领土完整的错误行径，都注定会遭到迎头痛击和可耻失败。
