From May 23 to 24, the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) conducted the Joint Sword-2024A military drills surrounding the island of Taiwan. The drills serve as a firm punishment for Lai Ching-te's provocative "inaugural speech" advocating "Taiwan independence" on May 20, also a stern warning to external forces supporting "Taiwan independence" and interfering in China's internal affairs. These operations are just actions to defend China's national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Any attempt by any individual or force to challenge the one-China principle or obstruct China's reunification is to hold back the tide with a broom. The historical trend towards China's complete reunification is unstoppable.

5月23日至24日，中国人民解放军在台岛周边开展“联合利剑-2024A”演习，这是对赖清德“5•20”讲话谋“独”挑衅的坚决惩戒，是对外部势力纵容支持“台独”、干涉中国内政的严厉警告，是捍卫国家主权和领土完整的正义之举。任何人任何势力妄图挑战一个中国原则、阻挠中国统一都是螳臂当车，中国实现完全统一的历史大势不可阻挡。

The actions of "Taiwan independence" separatists pose a severe challenge to the international order, represent the most dangerous alteration to the status quo in the Taiwan Strait, and constitute a significant threat to regional peace. Lai Ching-te, who brands himself as a "pragmatic advocate for Taiwan independence", touts Taiwan's "strategic position in the first island chain" and refers to it as the "world's Taiwan", with the attempt to seek external support for his independence agenda and act the loyal "pawn" for those who eager to contain China's development, Lai's extremely dangerous words and deeds will only plunge Taiwan and the Taiwan people into the abyss of war.

“台独”分裂行径，构成对国际秩序最严重的挑战，是对台海现状最危险的改变，也是对台海和平最重大的破坏。自称“台独工作者”的赖清德，鼓吹台湾“位居‘第一岛链’的战略位置”，是“世界的台湾”，这无非是想乞求外部势力为其谋“独”挑衅撑腰打气，更加死心塌地充当外部势力遏制中国发展的“马前卒”和“急先锋”，其危险性极大，危害性极强，只会让台湾陷入兵凶战危的境地，受害的最终是台湾民众。

The one-China principle is inviolable, and the trend towards China's reunification is irreversible. There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is part of China – this is a historical and legal fact. The United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 adopted in 1971 clearly stated that the government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legitimate government representing all of China, including Taiwan, in the United Nations. It affirmed the one-China principle, acknowledging Taiwan as part of China and not a sovereign entity. Yet the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities have long ignored these facts, twisted the truth, clung to their separatist stance, and colluded with external forces in their provocations for independence. However, people can tell right and wrong. The "Taiwan independence" separatists' backpedaling against historical trend is doomed to be futile. They will not stop China from achieving complete reunification and the great national rejuvenation. Instead, their actions will only expose themselves to the world.

一个中国原则不可违，中国统一的大势不可逆。世界上只有一个中国，台湾是中国的一部分，这是历史和法理事实。1971年第26届联合国大会通过的第2758号决议明确表明，中华人民共和国政府是在联合国代表包括台湾在内的全中国的唯一合法政府，明确了世界上只有一个中国，台湾是中国一部分、是非主权实体，确认了一个中国原则。民进党当局长期无视事实、颠倒是非，顽固坚持“台独”分裂立场，勾连外部势力进行谋“独”挑衅。然而，公道自在人心。不管他们如何开历史倒车，都注定是徒劳，不仅阻挡不了中国实现完全统一和中华民族迈向伟大复兴，反而会将其丑恶嘴脸大白于天下。

The one-China principle concerns China's core interests and the sentiments of the over 1.4 billion Chinese people. It is the cornerstone underpinning cross-Strait peace and stability, an integral part of the basic norm governing international relations, and the precondition and political foundation for China's friendly and cooperative relations with countries around the world. In recent years, countries like Nauru and Honduras have restored or established diplomatic relations with China. In the long term, more countries will choose to establish and develop friendly relations with China. Recently, many governments, political leaders, and friends worldwide have reaffirmed their commitment to the one-China principle, upholding UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 and opposing "Taiwan independence" attempts and external interference in China's internal affairs in any form. These continuous and widespread voices of justice once again demonstrate that the international community's adherence to the one-China principle is unshakeable. As the old Chinese saying goes, those who follow the right path gain broad support while those who go against it find little. Anyone attempting to challenge the one-China principle will end in failure.

一个中国原则涉及中国的核心利益和14亿多中国人民的感情，是维护台海和平稳定的定海神针，是遵守国际关系基本准则的应有之义，也是中国同世界各国保持和发展友好合作关系的前提与政治基础。近年来，瑙鲁、洪都拉斯等国家纷纷与中国恢复、建立外交关系。从长期趋势来看，与中国建立和发展友好合作关系，必将成为更多国家的历史性选择。多国政府、政要和友好人士近日持续发声，重申恪守一个中国原则，遵守联合国大会第2758号决议，反对任何形式的“台独”分裂以及外部势力干涉中国内政的行径。这些持续、密集发布的正义之声，再次说明国际社会坚持一个中国原则的基本格局不可撼动。得道多助、失道寡助，任何人妄图挑战一个中国原则，都将以失败告终。

China must be and will be reunified. As China's international status and influence are on the rise, the one-China principle has become increasingly cemented in the global community, and this is a historical trend no one can change or resist. The schemes of "Taiwan independence" separatists and external interference cannot stop China that is well on its way to reunification and national rejuvenation. We have the iron will to resolve the Taiwan question and achieve national reunification, the absolute capacity to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and we will take resolute and powerful actions to oppose "Taiwan independence" and external interference. Should the "Taiwan independence" separatists persist in their reckless pursuits, the Chinese PLA will act decisively on orders to thwart their separatist attempts and defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

祖国必须统一，也必然统一。随着中国国际地位持续提升、影响力不断扩大，国际社会坚持一个中国原则的基本格局日趋巩固，这是任何人都无法改变和违背的历史潮流。“台独”分裂势力和外来干涉图谋，阻遏不了中国实现完全统一的历史大势，阻挡不了中华民族走向伟大复兴的历史进程。我们解决台湾问题、完成国家统一的意志坚如磐石，维护国家主权和领土完整的能力坚不可摧，反对“台独”分裂和外来干涉的行动坚决有力。如果“台独”分裂势力一意孤行甚至铤而走险，人民解放军将听从号令、断然出手，坚决粉碎一切“台独”分裂图谋，坚定捍卫国家主权和领土完整。
