SATTAHIP, Thailand, May 30 -- Chinese naval training ship Qi Jiguang (Hull 83), which is on a cadet training and visit mission in far seas, arrived at the Sattahip Port, Thailand on the morning of May 29, starting a three-day goodwill visit to the country. This is the fifth visit to Thailand by Chinese naval training ship.
Ship Qi Jiguang approached the Sattahip Port at around 10 am local time. More than 400 people, including Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Han Zhiqiang, members of the Military Attache Office, representatives of Chinese-funded institutions and overseas Chinese, as well as representatives of the Royal Thai Navy Commander-in-Chief, the Sattahip Naval Base and cadets from the Royal Thai Naval Academy, welcomed ship Qi Jiguang at the port.
During the visit to Thailand, the commander of the ship will call on Commander-in-chief of the Royal Thai Navy Admiral Choengchai Chomchoengphaet, attend a banquet dinner organized by the Sattahip Naval Base, and lead the Chinese cadets to visit the Royal Thai Naval Academy. The visiting naval members will tour the aircraft carrier HTMS Chakri Naruebet, Rayong Guanghua School, and the Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Zone. Besides, open day activities and on-deck receptions will be held aboard the Ship Qi Jiguang.
