JAKARTA, Sep. 21 -- Chinese naval training ship Qi Jiguang concluded its three-day goodwill visit to Indonesia on September 20, leaving the Port of Surabaya, Indonesia, and continues its internship mission in far seas to Papua New Guinea and Fiji.
Two Indonesian and two Thai midshipmen boarding the ship Qi Jiguang in Qingdao to participate in the internship training disembarked from the ship on the same day.
During the visit to Indonesia, the Chinese mission commander called on leaders of Indonesian naval forces and academies. The Chinese sailors visited Indonesian naval forces, academies and museums, followed by joint training, forums and exchanges, and friendly matches with Indonesian counterparts.
In the five open-day events, more than 1,500 overseas Chinese and local people visited the ship Qi Jiguang.
At the invitation of the Indonesian Navy, when the ship Qi Jiguang departed from the Port of Surabaya, it conducted the joint training on formation maneuvers, joint communications, among others with the Indonesian naval frigates.
