SUVA, Oct. 9 -- Chinese naval ship Qi Jiguang, with more than 300 midshipmen onboard, concluded its goodwill visit to Fiji on October 8, and left Suva, the capital of Fiji, to continue its internship mission in the far sea.
During the visit, the Chinese mission commander called on the government and military leaders of Fiji and donated sports equipment to Yat Sen School. Representatives of Chinese sailors visited the Viti training base and other sites of Fiji Navy and conducted friendly exchanges with their counterparts.
In the five open-day events held on the ship Qi Jiguang, more than 1,000 Fiji military representatives, overseas Chinese, and local people visited the ship.
A deck reception was held on the evening of October 6, attended by nearly 200 guests, including representatives of the Fiji Navy, foreign diplomats in Fiji and overseas Chinese.
At the invitation of the Fiji Navy, when the ship Qi Jiguang departed from the Port of Suva, it conducted joint training with Fiji naval vessels on formation maneuver, joint communication and other subjects.
