GUANGZHOU, Nov. 27 -- Chinese and Vietnamese navies concluded the 35th joint patrol in Beibu Gulf recently. During the two-day joint patrol, China and Vietnam each sent two naval vessels, with the Chinese side having the light frigates Hanzhong and Aba.
During the joint patrol, the joint Chinese-Vietnamese task unit steamed in formation along the China-Vietnam maritime demarcation line in the Beibu Gulf. Both sides shared relevant information in a timely manner and alternated command of the vessels, enhancing their organization and coordination capabilities in joint patrols.
After the joint patrol, the two sides conducted joint drills on search and rescue, communication, among other subjects.
The joint patrol in the Beibu Gulf between China and Vietnam is a routine and friendly exchange between the two militaries. This time is the 35th joint patrol since China and Vietnam signed an agreement on joint patrols in the Beibu Gulf waters in 2005, being a practical measure in implementing the Joint Declaration on Further Strengthening and Deepening the China-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
