MINSK, July 6 -- A military parade was held in Belarus to commemorate the 80th anniversary of its liberation in the capital city of Minsk on the morning of July 3. At the invitation of Belarusian Ministry of Defense, the Guard of Honor of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) dispatched a contingent to participate in the event.

The PLA Guard of Honor contingent consists of 54 personnel. To adapt to Belarus' requirements for the marching speed in the military parade, the contingent arrived in Minsk 10 days in advance to conduct adaptive training.

It is reported that the troops from Belarus, China, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and other countries participated in the military parade that day.

China and Belarus have established an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership. The Chinese PLA Guard of Honor dispatched contingents to attend military parades in Belarus in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Before this mission, the members of the PLA Guard of Honor contingent learned the Belarusian song titled "We Are the Guards of the Motherland". On that day, when Chinese troops sang this song, the locals at the scene were deeply moved.
