BEIJING, July 3-- The China-Russia "Border Defense Cooperation-2024" joint anti-terrorism exercise was conducted on June 25 in the river area near the Heihe-Blagoveshchensk cross-border highway bridge that connects China and Russia.
This exercise was based on the scenario of terrorists attempting to cross the border to carry out terrorist activities. The Chinese and Russian sides implemented encirclement and capture operations in their respective areas through aerial reconnaissance, surface interception and ambushes on the shore.
The exercise aims to strengthen anti-terrorism intelligence sharing and operational coordination. It demonstrates the firm determination of China and Russia to resolutely take strong and effective measures to combat all forms of terrorism, separatism and extremism, and to jointly maintain lasting security in the border areas. It is learnt that the two sides also exchanged views on continuing to deepen cooperation on border defense.
