VIENTIANE, July 9 -- On July 8 local time, Chinese and Lao troops participating in the China-Laos Friendship Shield-2024 joint military exercise conducted live-fire shooting drill at the Kommadam Academy of the Lao People's Armed Forces (LPAF).

During the adaptive training phase of the joint military exercise, the Chinese and Lao participating troops conducted exchanges in live-fire shooting subjects involving various weapons, including light and heavy machine guns, sniper rifles, grenade launchers, and vehicle-mounted mortar systems. The two sides also held discussions on practical problems under combat conditions, such as how to capture targets quickly, how to adjust shooting methods based on terrain, and the appropriate timing for using different firearms.

It is learned that the two sides will conduct joint training in mixed groups based on the training subjects and tasks, so as to lay a solid foundation for the successful completion of the joint exercise.
