VIENTIANE, July 19 -- The China-Laos Friendship Shield-2024 joint military exercise staged a command post drill at the training ground of Kommadam Academy of the Lao People's Armed Forces (LPAF) on July 16.
After receiving the order to start, commanders from both sides used regional satellite images and other facilities to carry out operational design, guided Chinese and Lao staff officers to make enemy situation judgment, posture analyses, and operation plans, and directed the troops to get well prepared for combat.
To enhance the commanders' capabilities of making rapid decisions and commanding effectively, the joint exercise had increased the proportion of improvised direction and deployment. Meanwhile, greater attention was paid to guiding the Chinese and Lao troops to make integrated plans under different command styles and habits. Through an active exploration of the command and control processes for joint task forces, the joint exercise realized coordinated operational planning and efficient command.
The China-Laos Friendship Shield-2024 joint military exercise was held in Laos from July 5 to 18.
